A transformative confidence
There are times in life when everything seems to slip through our fingers: our plans, our certainties, sometimes even our strength. We try to understand, to control, to predict… but the more we try to hold on to things, the more they seem to elude us. Yet, it is often in the midst of these moments that God whispers to us: “Remain in My hands.”
1. In His hands: a place of safety
The Bible reminds us that God never acts in confusion. When we feel overwhelmed, He remains steadfast, faithful, and unchanging. Jesus said, "No one can snatch you out of my Father's hand" (John 10:29).
To remain in His hands is not to be passive. It is to recognize that the best place our life can be is under His care. There, His plans surpass our own, where His wisdom illuminates even the darkest nights.
2. In His hands: a place of transformation
To be in God's hands is to accept that He shapes us like a potter works clay. Sometimes this involves pressure, questioning, and detours. But always with one goal: to make us more like Christ.
The potter does not break the clay: he shapes it. God does not crush us: He builds us up.
When we remain in His hands, we discover that even difficult seasons become opportunities: to grow, to heal, to understand, to forgive, to begin again.
3. In His hands: a place of rest
Our hearts are often weary: from the pace, the expectations, the wounds, the invisible battles. But Jesus invites us:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
To remain in His hands is to lay down what we can no longer bear. It is to cease struggling alone. It is to find a peace that the world cannot offer.
4. A prayer for today
Lord, today I choose to remain in Your hands. Even when I don't understand, even when I can't yet see the way, I believe that You are good, that You are there, that You are guiding me. Shape me, lift me up, reassure me. May my life be safe in Yours. Amen.
