To begin, it is essential to begin your meditation time with prayer or worship. Then for Bible meditation you can:
1-Meditate by reciting the text in your head
Put yourself in the shoes of the Biblical character to live it. Doing this activity really leads us to understand and keep the Word of God read in us.
2- Rely on or dwell on the words of the passage
Read and reread the passage again until you memorize and understand it.
3- Paraphrase the passage
This involves reformulating or breaking down the passage read word by word. This can be done with the help of a dictionary.
4-Customize the passage
Replace the names or subjects of the verse with your own.
Example: John 3 v 16
< >
5- Be able to ask the following six questions:
- Does this passage contain a promise that I can rely on?
- Is there a habit I need to change?
- Is there a prayer to be said?
- Is this a mistake to avoid?
- Does it contain a truth to believe?
- Does this passage contain reasons to praise God?
6- Transform the passage read into prayer
It is also necessary to pray over the instructions received from God through the Word to be able to better apply them with the help of the Holy Spirit.
So we have many means at our disposal for meditation so let us not give up and persevere until the end.
