Praise, Worship, Gospel

Praise means the act of giving glory to God for his greatness, and

to express our gratitude to him.

Psalm 148:

1 Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens! Praise him in the highest! 2 Praise him, all his angels! Praise him, all his hosts! 3 Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars! 4 Praise him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters above the heavens! 5 Let them praise the name of the LORD! For he commanded, and they were created. 6 He established them forever and ever; he gave statutes, and he will not break them. 7 Praise the LORD from the earth below, you sea monsters and all you deeps, 8 Fire and hail, snow and thick fog, you mighty winds that execute his commands, 9 Mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, 10 Animals and all livestock, creeping things and winged birds, 11 Kings of the earth and all peoples, Princes and all judges of the earth, 12 Young men and young women, old men and children! 13 Let them praise the name of the LORD! For his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above the earth and the heavens. 14 He has exalted the horn of his people:

A subject of praise for all his faithful, for the children of Israel, the people who are near to him. Praise the Lord! Worship is the act of prostrating oneself before God in recognition of his greatness, his holiness and his sovereignty.

Worship can be expressed through prayers, songs, thanksgiving, and

sometimes even by physical gestures such as bowing down, raising hands,

clapping hands It also includes a submission of oneself to the will of God.

Psalm 95:6:

Come, let us bow down and humble ourselves, let us kneel

before the Lord, our Creator!

1-Christ our praise:

JESUS CHRIST is the only subject of our praise, that is to say

that he is the eternal mediator between God and humanity. A mediator intervenes to

bring people together, facilitate or reestablish communication, even transmit

grievances or knowledge. Jesus' mediation regarding our salvation is also true in

as regards our worship: we cannot reach the glorious presence of the Father

without the work of Christ. It is the perfect vehicle that can take us to our destination

desired: the home of God the Father. Not to mention an ultra-high-performance GPS for a

quick and efficient route: The Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Thomas and all the disciples bowed down before the risen Christ. In

the Apocalypse, the kings of the earth cast their crowns at his feet. Christ is indeed the one whom

we adore, the object of our praise, but he is above all the true worshipper of whom we

depend on when we praise God. Christ is the one who takes us before the throne of

God because he is the perfect offering.

There is only one praise that pleases God: that of Christ. Our worship does not stop with Jesus alone but is carried by Jesus alone to the throne of God. He is the mediator and we participate in this work, but in no case are we capable of producing anything good before God by ourselves! Leader of praise. MATTHEW MARVANE .

2-Worship in all seasons:

The praise that is expressed to God changes according to the

stages of life that we go through, the hot seasons, and the cold seasons, because this

Praise is the expression of a living, evolving relationship. The author follows the metaphor of

seasons to show the characteristics, challenges and usefulness of each: Rooting ourselves

in God who does not change and whose praise is eternal.

Worship is personal because it stems from a relationship with God. It is sometimes difficult to

define it with words and give it a rigid framework. Because it is alive, real, intimate and

daily. If worship is the expression of a relationship, it also means that God, to whom

she is addressed, is not in heaven looking at us and listening to us, arms crossed,

indifferent, but he responds, he hears, he receives, he reacts to our adoration and manifests himself.

Worship is the expression of our love for Him and the more we worship, the more we

love her. And the more we love her, the more we adore. For she brings us into her presence, and

makes us penetrate the depths of his love of his being.

It opens our spiritual perception. It chases away our darkness and shines its light. It

penetrates lies and brings forth the truth. She leads us into her Word and reveals the

mysteries of our God.

It establishes us in Christ and makes us steadfast in the face of the adversary; not by our own strength and knowledge, but by the presence and sovereignty of our God in our lives. Worship connects us with Heaven. It transforms us because our God is alive. It leads us to look beyond the circumstances and trials in our lives. It is our spiritual breath. Just as I need to breathe every day and every moment of my life, I also need to worship. It

is our spiritual language in action and in words. Youth worship leader in

3 - Worship the one you know:

Without being firmly anchored in God's unconditional love, the worshipper quickly becomes obsessed with the songs, the music, the atmosphere, the worship leader, reaching the point where the means are confused with the goal. The goal is to worship God.

To worship God, it is important to experience the power of His love.

Fundamentally, human beings need to be loved in order to love in return. They need to

to receive a revelation of the essence of the God who is love in order to be able to love and worship him.

It's a bit like the principle of communicating vessels. God's vessel is constantly filled.

since he is the inexhaustible source of life and love. And ours must be filled

regularly.

The fatherhood of God appears in a few rare passages of the Old Testament. In the

In the New Testament, on the contrary, we see an explosion of this revelation: The

Jesus' ministry on earth was to reveal to us the nature of the Father: Jesus, the son, knows

perfectly the Father, he wants to reveal him to us. He also wants to show us what intimacy we

can in turn have with the Father, like the intimacy between the Father, the Son and the Holy

Spirit. Jesus, the beloved Son of the Father, shows us what it is to be loved by the Father as

as son and daughter of the Father. Jesus is also the image of the free access we have to

God in praise and in our personal recollection. We have free access to

of the Father through the sacrifice of Jesus because everything has been accomplished. This relationship is accessible

now to those who believe in Jesus. It is grace! Artist and conductor of

4 - Worship in brokenness:

Worshiping God when we are not well... Is it possible? Yes, it is a right and it is one of the best things we can do. It is a choice. We can decide to praise and exalt the Name of the Lord by proclaiming who He is, what He has done, by remembering how He has touched us or healed us or a miracle in our own life and the lives of others.

Opening our mouths and proclaiming His praise brings about a totally dynamic

different. Because praising is not just singing. Praise involves our heart, our will,

and our faith.

Testimony of Charlotte ELLIOT

Charlotte had a happy childhood, as well as a beautiful youth, she had

achieved great fame, but at 32 she became disabled

until the end of her days. She was now condemned by illness and

bedridden where she suffered from depression. Her fame thus disappeared

than her many friends...If God loved me" she whispered, "He would not have me

not treated like that." The thought of obtaining God's mercy crossed his mind,

but convinced that she had committed too much sin, she no longer hoped for anything

from God. Wanting to help him, a Swiss pastor named César Malan,

visited him on May 9, 1822.

During the meal, Charlotte lost control of herself and burst into

violent fits of anger, ranting against God and his family. His family

embarrassed, left the room, and Doctor Malan, alone with her, looked at her

over the table.

- "You're tired of yourself, aren't you?" he said finally. "You're clinging to your

hatred and anger, because you have nothing else in the world to

hold on. As a result, you have become bitter, resentful, and bitter.

- "What is your remedy?" said Charlotte. - "The faith that you try to

despise." As the interview progressed, Charlotte softened. "If I

wanted to become a Christian and possess the peace and joy that are the

yours" she finally said, -"What should I do?"

-“You would give yourself to God, as you are now, with your struggles and your

fears, your hatreds and your loves, your pride and your shame.

- "I should come to God as I am? Is that right?" Charlotte is

came to God as she was. Her heart was changed that day and, over the years

days, she discovered and appropriated this passage from the Bible, the Gospel according to John

6:37, as a verse especially for her, where Jesus says: "... I will not put

not outside the one who comes to me."

She then composed the world-famous hymn, "Just as I am."

and translated into many languages, including the French "Tel que je suis":

Psalms as therapy:

David, the sons of Korah, and other psalmists often experienced difficult or painful situations. They found themselves in states of intense brokenness following certain attacks or hard blows from life and their enemies.

The constant perils of antiquity no longer really threaten us, but we have

also an enemy the devil, who prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he

will devour. He may attack us in the field of thoughts to discourage us,

underestimate us and take us into a whirlwind of negativity.

Praise can help us invite the Lord into our thoughts so that He may come there.

reign and transform them again. This is obviously an exercise that requires

discipline, but it is an effective and powerful weapon.

The Psalms and more generally the praises have a power, since it is a question

of a word that is said, sung, proclaimed. In itself, the word is creative. Let us note

that the different composers of the Psalms were not all and always in one

state of gaiety of heart when they composed them.

Sometimes it is prayers, supplications, sometimes praises,

recognitions or proclamations, songs of victory. All translate the

relationship between their author and God. For example, David, while he was a shepherd, sang

directly with his harp, his heart and mind centered on the Lord, and he spoke to him.

These are spontaneous compositions directly inspired. They can take

different shapes.

It is not always explosive praise but sometimes an outpouring of

broken heart. The Lord welcomes them all! In the Church, we often find

songs that elevate and magnify the Lord, but much more rarely

supplications and complaints.

In the psalms, the outcome of the complaints is, in the majority of cases, victory:

The Gospel

The word "gospel" comes from the Old English "godspell," meaning "good news."

Gospel is Christian music, black people from America coming from Africa, it is

a modernized evolution of Negro Spirituals and works songs

Sung in the cotton fields by the slaves.

Gospel music developed in the 18th and 19th centuries and has evolved over time to

become both a spiritual and cultural genre. Gospel texts: Refer to

to the New Testament and The texts of the Negro Spirituals: Refer to the Old

Testament, especially stories of the Exodus, the Hebrew people, and liberation

of slavery in Egypt.

There are several types of Gospel:

Contemporary Gospel

The Urban Gospel

African Gospel

Spirituals:

Are a musical genre born in the United States among slaves

Africans. They were often sung during work, but also in churches and

prayer meetings.

They are characterized by their religious lyrics and their message of hope,

resistance to oppression and redemption, in response to the harsh conditions of

slavery. Many of these songs expressed the suffering of slaves, but

also their faith and hope for a better life. They also served to unite

communities.

Chants were also used at secret gatherings to reinforce the

solidarity and cohesion within the Black American community. Sometimes,

coded messages were hidden in the lyrics of the songs to guide the

slaves to freedom.

Example of spiritual songs:

Song of resistance:

The Civil Rights Anthem Pastor Martin Luther King:

-We shall Overcome We shall overcome, some day. We

will win, one day Oh oh, deep in my heart, Oh oh deep in my heart I do believe We

I believe that we shall overcome, some day.

Call-and-response song

-Kumbaya my Lord Come by here come by here Lord.

-Go down Moses Way down in Egypt land Tell old Pharaoh To let my people go!

Go, Moses, to the land of Egypt, tell the old pharaohs to let my people go.

Example of Gospel song: Happy day, Amazing Grace, etc...

Whether it is praise, worship or the Gospel, the worshipper must:

Recognize the greatness, benefits and sovereignty of God. He must take

awareness that worshipping and praising God is an act of obedience to God and a

act of spiritual communion with believers.

where neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the

Father. 22You worship what you do not know; we worship what

we know, because salvation is from the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is

coming, where the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for these are

the worshippers whom the Father requires. 24 God is Spirit, and those who

worship him worship him in spirit and in truth.
